'Soil Dishes' Tomomi MizutaniDM

This exhibition introduces “soil dishes” by Tomomi Mizutani,
who is an young pottery artist who lives in HIda high mountain in Japan.
The surfaces of her works are quite characteristic
as if they were already antiques since they came out from a kiln.
So they are love not only by old pottery fans,
but also young generation who prefer to live in simple Japanese style life.
She says “I’m aiming to cast the shape of old memories of human activities,
which are stored between human and tools. “
Her works has some kind of misterious power
that appeals to the deep memories in our bodies.
