"Naoko Nojima Exhibition"

Naoko Nojima Exhibition

I usually put things in fixed position.
It doesn't mean tidy and everything is in order.
It's just to make myself feel comfortable by following personal rules, and I just can't accept the situation that I can't grab something when I need it immediately. No more than that.

So, When I do cleaning up, I always begin with grouping things and fix the position of each to sort up all the bits and pieces. But soon I face the same problem every time... I find independent items, which can not belong to any groups.
However, I can't give up these independents, even though they are all useless. Finally I'm dragged by them and loose my way to clean up.

Recently, I found spaces quite similar to "independents".
One day there was a construction started around my house. It's a construction to extend width of the road by putting empty lots and alleys. And I realized there is one small space which is probably left by a process of elimination. It couldn't be grouped into any place.
The space was greatly fenced. I felt like it's an tiny island left alone on a vast sea, or an small room of apartment leaking fluorescent-light in midnight.
This place, just like fencing a paradox as itself, left in my mind for a while.

The motives of my paintings are such "independent" exists standing idly, but can't hide there presence completely.
